E-Twinning registration has begun
The folks at the central office and at our national office for E-Twinning were eager to see our project officially registered, so with Jackie's agreement I have begun the registration process. The Lycée Astier in France, and the Scoil Ui Mhuiri in Ireland are now officially registered. I will add all the rest of you as soon as I get e-mail or a comment here telling me you're ready to go all the way. Of course, there are still many details to work out, but I feel confident we can find common ground.
I want to also add that several of you have said you have another partner, and asked if that partner can join our group. I think the best strategy for the time being is to add everyone to this blog for the purposes of discussion, even if in the end we register separate projects through the e-twinning office. For example, some technical-oriented classes in my school will probably be doing a separate project relating in some way to their technical subject (electricity, mechanics, woodworking or aluminum) and we're still looking for specific partners for them. Some of you may have appropriate sections, but most are in general studies, like I am. I don't think this is a problem. We'll work out specific partnership details as we go along.
Please respond using the "comments" button below, and good e-twinning!
Cheers, --- Phil

Gosia,
I found your school in the database, you'll need to use your colleague's login data to access the account, and you may wish to change the e-mail address listed to correspond to your own.
In fact the E-Twinning office hasn't yet completed the tool that will allow us to have more than 2 partners registered in the same project - that should come very soon, I am told. As soon as it's ready, I'll sign up your school, and all the rest who have told me they're ready.
Cheers, --- Phil
I am ready to register my school in the project too, but I have got a problem and I need your help to solve it. I am in contact with a Polish collegue and I'd like to know if I can realize a partnership with two Polish schools. As regard our project I think that "Living spaces" is a good idea but what contents are we going to develop? A schedule for performing our work and achieving objectives is the first necessary step we should organize.
Enza, I think that if you want to have projects with two Polish schools, they will be two different projects. That's not necessarily a problem.
I agree, we need to develop the "Living Spaces" theme with ideas for several different activities. I'm a big proponent of WebQuests, so I'll be more than likely proposing something along those lines where our students can participate and do research with their distant partners. Me might start with something simpler, though, having students write about their school, their town, their region, end so on.
Before we get too far I really want to try again to get the other participants on our blog here, so they can contribute ideas. It's been open less than a week, so we should be patient.
Cheers, --- Phil
I have confirmation via email from Jiøí Hrubý. He comments:
I and my students would prefer to communicate with one another
through E-mail. Any topic is interesting for us. My students would like to get to know one another, to exchange one
another´s ideas, points of view etc. Let´s get started in September.
Yes, absolutely. For the purposes of discussion, I want to encourage everyone to invite any interested colleagues here that they want. We can't expect to have everyone participate in the same project, but I think having more people here to discuss ideas and contribute thoughts will be a good thing. My colleague Bruno has also gotten in touch with some teachers in Portugal, so I hope we'll soon see them here.
The only thing I need is the e-mail addresses of new participants. Please don't post them here to the blog, though, send them to my e-mail address.
